Prof. Lucia Quaquarelli – Université Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense
Prof. Quaquarelli is associate professor, member of the Centre des recherches italiennes CRIX, of the research team «Littératures et anthropologie» dell’ECHESS/Collège de France and translator.
In the period 20th October-19th November 2016 she was Visiting Professor at the Department of Philology, Literature and Linguistics, on dr. Marina Nella Guglielmi’s proposal, with a project titled “Narrative in Transmedial and Transnational Era: Comics and Convergence Culture”. In the frame of her project, a conference about comics and novels was organized (“QUANDO IL FUMETTO SFIDA IL ROMANZO: Graphic novel, fumetto, letteratura e convergenza mediale“).
Prof. Alessandro Ghignoli – Universidad de Málaga
Prof. Ghignoli is associate professor at the Departamento de Traducción e Interpretación.
He is also editor of the reviews ‘L’area di Broca’ and ‘Trans. Revista de traductología’, and member of SEI (Sociedad Española de Italianistas) and SELGYC (Sociedad Española de Literatura General y Comparada).
He was Visiting Professor from 18th November to 1st December 2016 with the project “Translation and Comparative Literature: relationships and current trends.”, sponsored by dr. Simona Cocco from the Department of Philology, Literature and Linguistics.
Prof. Fernández Campos is a professor of the Course of Philology and Classical Tradition at the Department of Literary and Linguistic Studies of the Facultad de Artes y Letras. She teaches Latin, Roman Civilization Literature. Her main research areas are numismatics, archaelogy and classical tradition, translation of ancient and modern languages and history of language. She widely published at national and international level. She had also administrative and managing positions in her University and is a member of various national organizations and institutions for the updating and managing in teaching Spanish and in higher and postgraduate Education in Cuba.
In February 2017 she cooperated with dr. Maria Cristina Secci from the Department of Philology, Literature and Linguistics in the frame of the project “The translation from Italian into Spanish and vice versa: criollism on taxonomic declination in the Cuban literature of the twentieth century”.
Prof. Béatrice Daille – Université de Nantes
Prof. Daille is full professor of computer science and responsible for the research group Équipe TALN. Some research fields she’s interested in are: terminology extraction, term alignment from comparable corpora, multi-word expressions (multi-word terms, term variants, collocations), sentiment analysis and fine-grained sentiment analysis.
In April 2017 at the Department of Philology, Literature and Linguistics she handled the project “Building Bilingual Terminologies from Comparable Corpora”, proposed by prof. Francesca Chessa and dr. Cosimo De Giovanni.
Prof. Bello Valdés is full professor at Departamento de Estudios Lingüísticos y Literarios – Facultad de Artes y Letras at Universidad de La Habana, where she teaches universal and comparative literature. She’s also a translator and essayist. Giorgio Napolitano, former President of the Republic of Italy, awarded her with the title of Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella della solidarietà italiana.
Among her research fields we can find: Cuban, Italian and French literature, comparative literature; spread of foreign literatures in the frame of an intercultural dialogue; literary translation. Her lastest book is Encuentros cercanos de vario tipo. Ensayos sobre literaturas en diálogo (Editorial Letras Cubanas, 2015), which was awarded the Premio Nacional de la Critica.
Together with dr. Nicola Turi she handled the project “Literary and cultural exchange between Italy and Cuba. Translation and other ways of diffusion”, promoted by the Department of Philology, Literature and Linguistics.
Prof. Bertrand Westphal – Université de Limoges
Prof. Westphal has been professor of comparative literature and literary theory at Université de Limoges since 1998. He has been directing the «Espaces Humains et Interactions Culturelles» research team (EA 1087) since 2000. He is the founder of Geocriticism, a method of literary analysis and literary theory that incorporates the study of geographic space. He has widely published in English and French.
In April 2017 he was Visiting Professor with the project “Landscape and geopoetics”, on a proposal by prof. Roberto Puggioni from the Department of Philology, Literature and Linguistics.
Prof. Mirko Canevaro – The University of Edinburgh
Prof. Canevaro is Chancellor’s Fellow (with tenure) at the School of History, Classics and Archaeology. He is expert in Greek history. He is member of the editorial committee of Rivista di Diritto Ellenico, member of the RSE Young Academy of Scotland and Council member of the Classical Association of Scotland, Edinburgh and South-East Centre. In 2015 he was awarded a Philip Leverhulme Prize in recognition of his research achievements
He took charge of prof. Elisabetta Poddighe’s project “Legislative institutions and constitutional reflection in ancient Athens”, at the Department of Philology, Literature and Linguistics.
Prof. Achim Stein – Universität Stuttgart
Prof. Stein is full professor at the Institut für Linguistik/Romanistik, whose main research areas are semantic representation and ontologies, argument structure: syntax and semantics of French and Italian verbs, Corpus Linguistics, language contact.
With prof. Nicoletta Puddu from the Department of Philology, Literature and Linguistics, in May 2017 he handled the project “Building and annotating historical corpora”.
